Since 2015, the ICC (formerly the Alberta Indigenous Construction Career Centre) has been breaking down barriers to obtaining employment for Indigenous job seekers. With the introduction of our Partnership Framework and the launch of our custom e-platform, we’ve expanded our reach and the ways we can serve job seekers. Offering free pre-employment certificate training, job search/employer connections, and help with resume development remain the cornerstones of our service. Now, we also have the unique ability to connect ready and able Indigenous job seekers with employer partners who have an authentic interest in increasing their Indigenous workforce. Our online portal is custom built with the needs of job seekers and recruiters in mind and our focus on relationships is key to successful partnership and reciprocal benefit for all.
Having started with serving those in the construction industry, this sector remains critical to our work helping the Indigenous workforce realize economic prosperity through meaningful and sustainable employment. We are now positioned to develop relationships with job seekers and employers in new areas including security, housekeeping, supply chain, administration and more. Forming strategic partnerships, strengthening community relationships, and leveraging our custom e-platform, we have set our sights on becoming a well-recognized connection point for Indigenous job seekers in any sector and employers whose intentions to recruit and retain Indigenous talent align with our vision and mission.
