September 1 to 3: KWE! Meet with Indigenous Peoples

Summary

“It is through events such as KWE! Meet with Indigenous Peoples that racism and discrimination will be fought.” —Chief Ghislain Picard

This weekend the public is invited to the Place de l’Assemblée-Nationale in Quebec City (directly in front of the fontaine de Tourny) to learn more about the 11 Indigenous nations in Quebec.

The program includes activities throughout the weekend, including workshops on traditional knowledge, tastings of culinary specialties, discussions to learn more about issues affecting Indigenous communities, and much more.

The public will have the opportunity to attend performances by artists Elisapie, KXO, Shauit, Matiu, David Hart, Melissa Girvan, Troupe Sandokwa and Barbara Diabo with the Buffalo Hat Singers.

The weekend will culminate with a performance by Loco Locass with Natasha Kanapé Fontaine and Shauit. Admission is free.
