Open casting call announcement for "Thorpe"

Director Tracey Deer is looking for an actor to play the role of Jim Thorpe in the upcoming feature film called Thorpe.

It’s an online open casting call event to find a male to play the acclaimed Sac and Fox and Potawatomi athlete, Thorpe, as a young man age 22 to 25.

The film is a sports drama about the Indigenous multi-sport athlete. Aided by the legendary coach, Pop Warner, Jim attempts to overcome the devastation of the Native American boarding school system to achieve Olympic glory at Stockholm in 1912 and fulfill the words of his father to "show the world what an Indian can do."
