The Assembly of First Nations is starting to prepare for next year’s election of national chief with a call out for proposal bids for the Chief Electoral Officer role for the election.
The national chief is elected by a minimum 60 per cent of the registered representatives of Nations at an assembly convened specifically to elect a national chief. The national chief serves a three-year term.
The deadline for proposal submissions is 5 p.m. (EST), Nov. 24. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope, so submissions by facsimile or electronic delivery secure site or otherwise are not acceptable.
