The Calgary Folk Music Festival kicked off yesterday and runs to Sunday. Festival Artistic Producer Kerry Clark describes the set up and expectations for Friday afternoon through Sunday in the event’s 39th year.
There is a lot of Indigenous talent scheduled. They hired an eight-member Indigenous group to lead the Indigenous portion of the festival this year.
A Tribe Called Red closes the main stage on Saturday night. Michelle Thrush is in the talk tent with her Kookum comedy.
There is an international food market, and artist market and more.
