Indigenous performers part of Taste of Edmonton line-up

Taste of Edmonton has released its entertainment line-up for its July festival and it includes Indigenous performers.

Celeigh Cardinal and nêhiyawak will be on the stage July 26. nêhiyawak hails from Edmonton and comprises Kris Harper, Matthew Cardinal, and Marek Tyler—three Indigenous musicians coalescing at the intersection between traditional and contemporary music.

The heartfelt, biographical songs of Cardinal, a Métis singer/songwriter, are carried by a voice that harkens to the golden era of jazz and blues.

Taste of Edmonton takes place July 20 to July 29 in Churchill Square in downtown Edmonton, bringing together the city’s best food and drink, and topping it off with entertainment, workshops and competitions.

Taste of Edmonton has become a summer tradition celebrating all the culinary delights the city has to offer. It is the largest food festival in Canada.
