Streetworks, Moms Stop The Harm, and AAWEAR (Alberta Addicts who Educate and Advocate Responsibly) will be hosting Edmonton’s International Overdose Awareness Day event on the steps of the Alberta Legislature Aug. 31.
The event will honour those that have lost their lives to unintentional drug overdose, as well as raise awareness to the ongoing opioid overdose crisis.
There will be information booths, overdose prevention/naloxone training, a memorial wall and guest speakers, including the Minister of Health Sarah Hoffman.
The event takes place from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m. at 10800 97 Ave. in Edmonton.
