Manifest Destiny’s Child and Don Burnstick will be special guests at a Comedy Night fundraising event host by Aboriginal Engagement and Outreach.
Manifest Destiny’s Child is a collective of female stand up comedians sharing their perspectives on what it means to be a “modern Indian getting by in a colonial world,” reads their Facebook page.
Burnstick is Cree from Alexander First Nation in Alberta, and is well known on and off the rez for his ‘laughter is good medicine’ comedy performances.
The event will be held on Nov. 30 at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) Auditorium, 252 Bloor Street West, Toronto.
Doors open at 7 p.m. and entertainment runs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Proceeds will support the Aboriginal Services Healer-in-Residence Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH).
