'Stay the Course' writes AFN Alberta regional chief on UCP election win

Marlene Poitras, Alberta Regional Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, provided this statement last evening on the results of the Alberta election:

Major news stations have declared Jason Kenney Premier elect for Alberta, and the UCP (United Conservative Party) has formed the majority government.

I would like to offer my congratulations to the Premier elect and all the candidates who ran in the provincial election.

I look forward to working with the new government and I commit to continuing to advocate vigorously for respect and recognition of First Nations rights as well as calling for action on issues that matter to First Nations.
